Default General piston question? Probe vs. whoever.

I was at lunch today with some people and we were talking about pistons. Probe was mentioned and I have never heard of them. I did a search and found some responses about people using them but no really good reviews. The guy today said they were as good as Diamond and cheaper. I have always had the personal opinion that Diamond was pretty much the best piston you can get. I am just looking for some general info. about Probe quality and if they are something to check into if I do another build. TIA...

Probe has been around for a long time. They make some good stuff and I hear they are making some LS1 pistons now.

Probe is very big in the Ford Market. Mark and Toby are excellent people to deal with. They make great product and sell it for a great price.

Probe's owners both worked at Ross. One of the owners is related to the owner of Ross. Both Chris and Mark are sharp guys and make good product. Shawn Mendenhal, their head engineer, is a sharpe dude. They make a great product. As far as who is better then who. Most the piston people us the same Alcoa pucks, their may be some mixes that are propritory to some piston companies. It then comes down to machining and QC but even this can be scewed by human hands. Best bet is to follow your builders advice, get what he is comfortable with and check everything.
