Anyone know the thickness of the factory head gaskets on the 2004 LS1 Vet/GTO motors?

The advertised thickness (compressed) is .060 for the new MLS and .054 (2001 and older C5s) composite... Members have measured different results, but that is from several different caliper types...

I meaured 0.049" compressed thickness on the OEM MLS gaskets. HPE came up with the same numbers - with different calipers than mine

Thanks TA, I keep forgetting to tell you we have the same mods on our cars. Only small difference is I use Royal Purple blinker fluid, its good for a couple extra horses you know.

I just finished an engine using the same gaskets, which measured .048" compressed. Looks like the advertised number is off a bit....
