Default Pics of Greddy Catch-Can Install. (!56k)

Had this thing sitting in my room since right before Hurricane Rita, kinda put it on the back burner after that I looked all over for a place to mount it and found this spot. I wanted to build a bracket and mount it on the driverside head, but i then realized it would be alot of work. Its pretty well tucked in in this spot and i'm pleased with how it turned out.

I got this catch can off of ebay for fairly cheap (WAY cheaper than AMW), spent like 10 bux on 7 feet of 3/8" fuel line, and some hose clamps.

Oh and for the hAtOrZZZZ.....GREDDY BITCH!!! PSHHHH

Oh yeah, I put some foam weather stripping under the catch can so it wouldnt rattle sitting on the metal.

And if you don't have a pair of these, i highly recommend getting some. They will cut through damn near anything (even though they look cheesy). They make short work of zip ties and hoses. They are advertised as being able to cut a penny in half, which they can (wasn't me )

Thanks guys, i clean it with simple green/water and use a long-bristled, soft, wheel cleaner brush to get into the nooks and crannies. Then i use some stuff called "in and out spray" from adamspolishes.com on the plastic. It smells just like foot powder, and doesnt seem to stick to anything besides plastic lol.

As for the oil consumption, i imagine it burns some, because of the 112k miles on it. The main reason i installed teh catch can is to cut down oil spray that mixes with my incoming air charge. I've read about how much pinging and knock retard that it causes. The tune in the car now has alot of spark advance with the cam and i'm going to war with knock retard.

In the top picture, the hose that goes from the front of the passenger side valve cover, into the throttle body, i'm looking to maby run through the catch can also. Does anybody know if much oil is sucked in through there? Would it be OK to splice that line into the hose going TO my can, then plugging the one on the throttle body? or can i just plug that one at the valve cover since its already drawing from both sides as it is....

I do not think much oil would be coming though that top hose, seeing as oil would have to fight gravity to get in the hose from the top of the VC and them into the TB...

There is always some for sale on there. They sell 2 versions, the 15mm and the 9mm. The 9mm version uses 3/8" fuel line, which is perfect for splicing into your stock system.

Where the PCV system plugs into the manifold, it uses a piece of rubber hose which is about 1-1/2" long. If you yank that piece off, there is a piece of plastic tubing (under the foam, you can see it in the first pic) that it slips over which is flared out. You can push/twist a piece of 3/8 fuel line over the flare and it makes for a tight fit, you dont even need a hose clamp.

I don't think i've seen anyone mount a can right there before and thought it was a pretty good idea

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-O...spagenameZWDVW

Those are the same thing, and look like they send you a bunch of fittings you can use if you want. They are about 1/2 as much as the actual greddy brand. I would probably buy one of those if i had to do it over again.

Here's the one i bought....

Blur, looks quite nice, however I dont like the hose running across the engine bay to it and back. My buddy has this same setup, and I cant help but to think that there is oil getting clogged up in the cans "IN" line or reducing its effectiveness. Maybe its not, but makes sense if it were mounted closer the ports I guess. Nice to see one that isn't Pink (Chris 00BLKSS) too

Across the windshield fewl!

You might want to post in the forced induction section about the catchan for your turbo setup. I'm not sure about how boosing the intake manifold would affect the way a catchcan setup works.

And i think you are right about that ls6 pcv system, it pulls from UNDER the manifold (in the valey) IIRC.

Looks good man. I have my AMW catch-can in the same spot and the rubber hoses are ran the same way that yours are.

Yes, the line from the LS6 Valley Cover feeds into the CC "inlet" and then out to the Intakes "inlet" with the PCV being routed b/w one of the lines. I put mine right off the Valley Cover, then hose from their to the catchcan, and back to the Intake.
