I have a high pitched whine noise between 60-70mph, light throttle only, that comes from under the car, between the front seats. I suspect the front U joint is the culprit. 85k miles on the car. Anyone else wear out U joints, and noticed them get noisy? Thanks.

Slip the driveshaft out move the U joints by hand they should move nice and smooth If their "ratchety" then I'd replace them..

Sounds more like a bearing problem in the rear end. Usually when you wear out a u-joint you'd notice a vibration as well...

yeah my u joint went bad in my s10 and on the gas it shook the **** out of that truck. it was terrible.
