Default 4.10 Gears good, bad?

I am planning on doing 4.10 gears on my car, but curious if i have to build up the rear before hand, I am not familiar with RWD cars as much as FWD.

also are the 4.10 gears good or bad, should i go down to 3.73 or?

also what kind of gains should i be looking at with this part

If it's an automatic, go with the 3:73s. If it is a 6 speed manual, then go with the 4:10s. You'll get great performance out of these setups without sacrificing much gas mileage.

Generally the rule of thumb with our cars is if you are an M6 go with 4.10s and if you are an A4, go with 3.73s. I had 4.10 gears in my m6 car and i lost 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile and i was trapping at in the 105-108 mph range with full exhaust.
