Default Will Heavy Oil Reduce a bit of Gear Whine?

I have new gears and they whine a bit, buy only 60-70mph, light throttle. I could live with it, but it is annoying since that's how I'm usually driving. Someone said heavier oil like 80W-140 would make it quieter. Right now I have the GM recomended stuff which is 75W-80.

Anyone successful with heavier oil and a quieter Gear? Thanks!!
