Selfishly, I want Vince to stay, but he's making the right decision. Texas will be fine. He'll never be in a better position regarding the NFL draft. He can always go back and finish his degree, and from what I understand he's about 30 hours short of completing it. Hell, who needs a degree when he's going to knock down that kind of jack??!!

i doubt he'll get 100 million for a 5 year contract but he will get a good bit of change for sure. he will make an instant impact on some team next year in the nfl i'm sure. personally i feel good for him having that opportunity to go pro and be set for life. best of luck to him.

im looking at NO... hopefully they will keep him in better shape than they did w/ Ricky Williams!
and yes UT will still be a top team, and we will see how colt matures in his first season of playtime

NO was the first team to cross my mind also..the texans could use him but they're to deeply invested into Carr to afford a guy like young. i hate to see VY go to some scrap team like that, i really hate how the nfl draft is setup. he deserves to go to a team more deserving of his talent.

I see him going to Tennessee. NO will likely draft Lineart. It will be good for VY, since he is already good friends with Steve McNair.
I'm sad to see him go, but bear this in mind: Greg Davis' offensive scheme this year was "All Vince, All the Time". He didn't do this because UT lacked other weapons, he did it because VY was this team's greatest strength. UT still has Jamaal Charles (who needs to work on ball control in the offseason), Selvin Young (who needs to work WITH Jamaal Charles), Limus Sweed, Billy Pittman, Henry Melton, and Ramonce Taylor at the skill positions on offense. I'm worried about losing a few starters on the offensive line, but a National Championship makes a great recruiting tool.
Defensively, Gene Chizik is losing a few key players (like Huff), but he's also get some speed demons waiting in the wings. I don't see Texas pulling off another title without Young, but I see them finishing in the top 10, and likely taking the Big 12 again.
The trouble with the Texans is they've invested so much in David Carr, and the WORST thing an NFL team could do to Young would be to throw him in right away. He was protected in high school and college by having entire offensive schemes based around his strengths and (more importantly), avoiding his weaknesses. To succeed in the NFL, he probably needs to sit at least a season behind a GOOD veteran quarterback and learn the speed of the NFL game.
I'm sad for UT, but at the same time, he's making the right decision. I'm no less a UT fan than I was before (hell, I was a fan when we were getting killed by UCLA in the late 90's), but it will be different without him. I wish him all the best and will cheer for him every time he touches the ball.

Yeaaaaaahhhhhhh!!! Bye bye VY!
Hey fellas how did OU do this year an unexperienced QB starting for them? Good luck next year TU......
No seriously though smart move by Vince his stock is never gonna be higher even if he did stay next year and win the heisman. The NC is 10 times more valuable than the heisman

It's sad to see him go, but it's the right decision for him and his family. Millions of dollars VS another year of college. I would have done the same thing.
I'm proud to have seen him play soo many games, and to have been around him regularly on campus.
