Question 85 chevy silverado diesel 6.4 convert to 350 olds motor

I have a 85 Silverado with a 6.4 liter deisel and want to change to a gas burner. I have a chance to buy a '73 olds motor.
Guys says it is an olds (wouldnt that be a "L" motor?)
He also said it was a 350 rocket. (Wouldnt that have 16 bolts on the valve covers and be gold in color?)
Assuming all the above is true I was hoping that my present factory tranny would bolt up to the "rocket". He also said it was a 2bbl and that wouldnt be a rocket since rockets are 4 bbl's?
Bottom line.
Would the tranny bolt to this engine.
What mod's would I have to do assuming the tranny bolts up?

Thanks. Been years since I have done any mechani projects and now I have a son old enough to turn a wrench and wants to start a project with his dad.

Thanks for any help/ suggestions you might have.
