How the hell do i tell?
ok, is there any easy way to tell what size valve springs you need in conjunction with your cam? i have my sights set on a gm847 from my hotcam and i'd like to get better springs to accomodate for it except when i search summit, they have many spring sets, but none of which i can or really decide if they're right, can anyone shed some light on me? do i take the cam intake/exhaust lift and so something with it??

A lot of factors determine the spring needed. You need to pick a spring that will support the amount of lift and not have coil bind. Also needs to have the appropriate closed and open seat pressures (adjustable with shims) to accomodate the type of lifters used and desired rpm.
