Default I did search......Largest MT drag radial you can fit under an F-body

This is what I have

Narrowed Fab 9in (3in on both sides)
Wolfe wheel tubes
Wolfe offset skinny LCAs
Wolfe adjustable spring pershes with the little spings

I know what kind of slick I can fit but not sure on the DR part.
I am not sure if I want a 10in wheel with a 5in bsing or a 12in wheel
with whatever bsing. I want the largest DR that you can fit under this car.
It will be very slammed on the ground. I was thinking a 315/60/15. Is the
doable. Cutting is obviously not a consern of mine.

Please give me some help on the best wheel/tire combo for this setup.

you can fit 315's no problem. A 10" wheel with 5" backspacing would work, 5-1/2" would tuck better.

I have the wolfe stuff installed, rear is narrowed 2" with 15x10 prostars with 6.5 inches of backspacing, with mt 325/50/15 et radials, it fits very good have about 1/4 clearance form the lca, and 1/2 or so from the top lip of the fender.

You are saying that a 10in wheel with a 5.5in BS with a 315/60/15 with fit with minitubs, little springs, and offset LCAs. I don't want to make the mistake of ordering this and then it not fit. Is this whay you have on yours. I want it to tuck the most without hitting the inside. Also what is the biggest slick you can trade out with. Would that be a 29.5/10.5/15W, or is that not equivelant to the Drag radial?

I ran 315's with the stock tubs and 7.5" backspaced prostars. It was very full, but it worked.

Then I minitubbed the car and narrowed the rear end 2-1/2" per side and ran 6" backspaced wheels. They tucked very nicely and were about 1/4" from the offset LCA's.

The 315 drag radial and the 29x10.5nonW on a 12" rim are almost identical in size.
The slick will grow much more going down the track than the Drag radial will.

I thought the 295/65 was the same size as a 29.5x10.5 and the 315/60 was the same as a 29.5x10.5W. Going by the measurements off of M/T's website.

I have personally measured the 315 and the 29.5x10.5nonW on 12" rim.

The 315 measured 14.25" total width on a 12" rim.
The 29.5nonW measured 14" total width on a 12" rim.
I have not measuered it but i believe the W tire will measure about 14.75 total width or a little more on a 12" rim.

The height is closed enough. Plus the drag radial doesn't really grow much at speed where the slick will grow quite a bit.

Hmmmm.... I guess I might try a set of 315's then. I know a 'W' won't fit.

Do you have any pictures with the stock tub setup??? It must have been VERY full like you said! 15x10's? and a stock width rear?

So are you guys saying you have to run offset lca's with the 315/60/15 MT ET Radial? I can cut the bottom of the fenders (where they rap) and hit the wheel wells with a hammer till they fit but don't want to have to offset lca's or anything. Thanks.

P.S. I know of one guy who's running a 30" radial who hasn't said anything about offset lcas. For what it's worth, mine are turbular spohn adjustable lcas so they will have a little more clearence then a box lca.

Nevermind, just saw they offer a 295/65 size too, think i'll give that a try.

Here's a link to my 325 50 15's MT dr's. They are on 15x10's w/ 6.5"bs.
On a Trans Am you have to clearance the fenders, at least I had to anyway.
There is no inner fenderwell modifications on my car.

I was also wondering what size tire I could stuff under my Z.. It currently has 28x10.5 MT Drags on it right now, but I want to run a big MT DR this year. My 9in is narrowed 3inches per side and I'm running 10in Alumastar 2.0s out back. I just bought the car so I'm not certain on backspacing, but I'm guessing its around 5in BS. The inner wheel well has been beat in as well as the outer fender lip..

Whats the biggest MT DR I can fit? 315/60?

325 50 - 15 MT ET Radials on 10" pro stars w/ 7.5" BS w/ stock rear, non adustable LCA's. Had to do some BFH mods to the inner fender well, remove the bump stops, do some cutting on the bump stop mounts, and a adjustable PHR to center the rear a little better. It's close to the rear fender, but these tires don't grow much at all, at my speed anyway.
