Please help me figure this....
Ok, so i have a 1995 lt1 Trans Am. I just bought some pacesetter longtubes and Have a question.
My car stock has 1 cat converter. And im PRETTY POSITIVE NO REAR O2 SENSOR.
The only O2's are the ones on the headers. So I will be getting a custom catted y-pipe made with 2 cats.
I also bought a cutout and am not sure where i should put it.
Before the cats, which would mean if cutout was open, i would be running headers only. (will that throw codes, and damage O2's?)
Or should i go with the cutout after the cats meaning headers and catted y, when the cutout is open?

If you go after the y pipe in the I pipe, that means you only need to buy one cut out. And believe it or not, Cats don't hurt your performance like most are led to believe. Depending on the angle, how far or close you put the cutout to the o2, will determine if you throw a code or not. If it's to close, all the o2 will be reading is fresh air, thus throwing a code for a lean. In the such, your car will start running like crap because the computer is just dumping loads of fuel into the engine trying to gain control over the AFR.

Ok, then in the i pipe, and after the cats it is.
When i have them make the y pipe should i have them weld the cats directly after the headers or should i leave like 6 inches in between the headers and cats?
