Stock 8 inch wheels' backspace is ~6.25". Do the math, if you've got 8 inch wheels, your wheels will be 1.25 inches OUT further then they are now. Even 5.5 BS on an 8 inch wheel does not look right in my opinion (and GM's) since they choose a larger backspace. the stock wheel is centered correctly in the wheel-well.
When we design our Bogart wheels...IF a customer chooses an 8 inch wheel (which I never recommend since the tires that can be put on the car require larger wheels)...our backspace is set closer to stock...where the wheel should be.
