Whats the biggest tire I can fit with my wheels?

I have 17x9.5 ZR1 WHEELS. What is the biggest/widest tire i could get away with?
Currently have Khumo Ecstas 275/40 W, front and back.

275/40ZR17 is the IDEAL tire for a 17" diameter 9" to 9.5" wide wheel

285/40ZR17 is the absolute widest recommend tire for a 17" diameter 9.5" wide wheel.

285/40/17. C4 Vetts came with that size.
