Default How can I get a LT1 Magnaflow to fit my LS1?

Hello,

I unknowingly purchased a LT1 Magnaflow exhaust a couple weeks ago. The seller didn't specify which model year it was for, so I assumed it was a LS1. I now know that it came off a '96 Trans Am.

I have a 2000 Trans Am. Does anyone know how I could make this fit? I've heard that there is a small difference in the I-pipe portion of the exhaust. My mechanic is going to put it on Monday, and he's going to have the rear out at the same time, which should make it easier. I'm not sure if it will line up nicely, though.

Here's a .pdf of each from the Magnaflow site:

The only difference is the intermediate pipe is longer on the LT1. Just take a measurement and how much the difference is and cut that much extra off.
