Default cam budget question

i may have someone buying my wheels from in about a month or so for $850. my car is my daily driver and now approaching 106k. i want something reasonably streetable but still has a good kick. anyone have suggestions on what me and the $850 could do for a daily driver cam/valvetrain setup?

thanks in advance

you could buy the hot cam kit, and install it yourself for that 800. probably have a little cash left over after gaskets, fluids and stuff like that.
maybe have some left over for a tune.

go bigger....

you'll regret going small...you can be streetable with something like the 230/236, cc306, or a custom grind in that range....don't go small, if you ever think you'll want to be bigger...do it now

your really not going to make much more power with those cams without heads, besides the custom cam.

i realize that, but in the future if you ever want to grow, it sames more time and money to already have a larger cam in the motor....i made the mistake, as several others that begin with small cams with intention to go bigger later

That's true but if he ever upgrades his heads then cam is one thing he won't have to fool with again.
