Default what gears do i have?

i got a third gen z28 that im putting a 350 in and its all about ready, how can i tell which gears my car has in it? i looked for a build sheet with all the codes on it but i cant find one. can anybody help me out

OK, jack up one side of the car and put it in nuetral. Put a chalk mark on the driveshaft (put jackstands under the car before getting under it and put blocks on the front tire that's on the ground so it will not roll!). Now, turn the tire that is in the air, 20 times while counting the number of turns of the driveshaft. Now take the number of turns that the driveshaft had and divide by 10. That will be your gear ratio.

just open your center console and look at the rpo codes

This only works if you assume that the previous owner did not put gears in it.

i dont think anyone has been into the rear end, i looked in to middle console when i bought it and it doesnt have a sheet in it. i was really just wondering if there was any other way i could tell.
