Why diddnt you ask this in the valve cover breather thread?
Your car has a valve cover breather already, just not the little filter you're thinking about. Its commonly referred to as the PCV system, moreover, the Positive Crankcase Ventilation system.
The crankcase developes pressure by having combustion chamber gasses "blow-by" the piston rings, as well as other things. The stock PCV system vents into the intake manifold. The only problem with this is that the vented air usually contains an oily film that gunks up the intake system and causes knocking/pinging and things like that in bad cases.
