Widest tire on stock Vette wheels?
What's the widest tire i can safely run on 2k C5 Vette wheels (thin 5 spoke)? These are actual GM wheels off a Corvette, not replicas so the fronts are 17s and the rear is 18s. I don't know the wheel width. Hopefully someone with those wheels will chime in. Thanks.

"Safely" is a relative term unless you describe what you're going to do with your car. Depending on RS (rear spacing) you can probably safely go to a 285 on the rear. I wouldn't alter the fronts at all as you will probably get tire roll on any type of corner at speed.
However, if you're NOT going to road course race or take corners at high speed, you could try 10 - 20 mm wider for each tire (265 front, 295 rear). Again, this depends on how much RS and the amount of space between your tire and the inner/outer fender.

thanks guys. Then I'm running what I should be.
Daily driven car... driven hard on turns and straights.
Does this also apply to Drag Radials? or can you got wider on the 9.5 rear rim with DRs?

Doesn't mean you can go with different sizes just because it is a drag radial.
Granted Nittos run, small for their advertised sizes, but doen't mean it is OK to just up size them.
