ITS has a 80mm, but the PT76gts out performs it. i think Jose also ofers an upgrade for it so its about 78 or 80mm in the GTS form

yeah i have talked to Jose about the T76GTS--->80mm upgrade.im just thinking alot about whatll suit my needs the best.I dont want to run into any backpressure issues since its going on a 383 and i bet the upgrade would help but just trying to see all my options.

If you're on a 383 move up to a TV-flange and something like a GT42, or a GT47-80. The motor has to be able to exhale good to inhale good, and you're just choking it on a T4 flange.

i think they have a larger exhaust AR housing you can put on it like a 1.06 or something like that.

Evil...im trying to stay away from the Garretts because of sheer size of the turbo itself.

Another question is,from what ive calculated,ill have full boost at about ~3k making 12-15psi.What kind of hit will i take on lag by upgrading to an 80 mm?

shouldnt be much of lag increase from what Jose has said.

My experience is that a 383 will make more power than a 355 with even with the T76GTS.

yeah mike i have read up about your setup.ive always thought along the same lines as you.But i figure if it wont kill my pocket itd be a nice lil upgrade to help the motor breathe.

Smoking hawk ill have to ask Jose about that as i didnt realize that,or is that just part of the 80mm upgrade?

That's great, but it doesn't mean the T4 housing isn't a restriction and costing you power on both motors. I was seeing higher backpressure than I liked on a 363 with a T76-GTS in a .96 A/R housing, and there are very real gains to be had just by opening up the exhaust.

what did u make with that setup?and say i swap in the 80mm and the 1.0X A/R what kinda gains we talking here?

You know, I've heard this said before on the ITS 80 vs. PT76GTS performance but I've never seen any proof of it. It's usually claimed by mustang guys simply because they manage to spool up the 76GTS quicker than they do the ITS80.

Has anyone actually seen the real proof on the same car? By proof I mean ET and MPH not the dyno chart of the day?

There isnt a housing available above .96 as far as I know for the precision unit. Thats why you should ge the GT42... also how big c.i. engine is this going on. Sign up at turbomustags.com, great turbo products in the forsale section and knowledge over there.

GT80 dual ball bearing turbo with water cooled center bearing housing. Turbo is brand new, only reason I am getting rid of it is because I've decided to go to a gt47-88 for my combo. My loss is your gain. The turbo has never even been bolted up to a set of headers. Would work great on a stroked 302 based engine with some decent flowing heads. Pretty sure there is another AR above the .96. i think speed used it on one of their customer cars with the tti a2a race kit. i remember intimd8 posting on using the bigger AR for it.
