Dude, screw that tool! The first time I put one in, it leaked. I did not use the tool to put that one in, but I realized my mistake. Look at the seal; it has two lips on it. There is a simple way to install this thing for free. I put several in without this tool afterwards and never had a problem, you just have to know how to do it.
When you get a new seal, it should come with a plastic ring on the inside of it. You will use this ring to seat your new seal. Make sure one lip is facing toward the crank and the other away from it. Place the seal with the ring over the rear of the crankshaft. Push the seal up to the crank so they are making contact and then center the plastic ring on the crank's edges. Then, slowly twist the seal off of the plastic ring and onto the crankshaft. If it is done right, then the lips will stay facing in the right direction. After it has began seating, you can use a rubber mallet to gently tap it into place. I promise that it will not leak - just make sure the lips are installed in the right direction.
