Default temp gage-timing retard

When I floor it from a dead stop the temp gage on the dash goes from the normal place where it stays when warmed up down to like the 100 mark and then back up all within about 1 second. I have noted that on a-tap the temp goes from like 178 to 120 for one frame and then back to 178. This coincides with the timing problem I have been having where the timing goes down to negative numbers at the hit of the throttle and then starts coming back. Any ideas???

OK, I have determined that the Whipple aux computer is causing this problem and others too!! The IAT readings are all over the place, from -40 to 120 when it is actually like 70. Evidently I am not the only one who has experienced this. The only real way to fix it is to add some bigger injectors and get rid of that add on computer.

This may not help you. I use the timming tricker mod. I use a 4.7k ohm resister on the IAT wire so the computer thinks intake temp is 57. Keeps timming steady and advanced.
