So i broke a header bolt..... Yeah i just took the car out over the last couple days and put 75 miles on the car and went back to check the bolts to see if they were loose and i got to the first one and did even turn it and it broke off so now im screwed i havent taken the rest out to see if it broke off enought to see if i can get a set or vise grips on them yet but im afraid that i broke off inside the heads if that happened what is the best way of getting that out? i need some ideas

They broke? Even if you re-used the stock ones they shouldn't brake that easy! Did you overtorque them?
I used Stage 8 stainless locking header bolts and had no problems with them.

if there is any sticking out of the hole, you can get a chisel and turn it by hitting the chissel. I dont know if you could do this on a header bolt, but it worked good from a couple that i broke.

i'm not sure i'd try the chisel idea with the aluminum heads...
just drill it out...easy-out, just do it right the first time and don't pave the way for more crap to happen.
i hate having to do **** the RIGHT way ALL the time, but as my luck has it, if i skimp on ANYTHING i have to repair it again. be it at home, work...anywhere, i have **** poor luck.
this is also shown after doing years (yes years) of research about these ls1 cars, so i buy one and what does it run bone stock? 14.1 @ 101. me and luck don't get along..

Did you use anti-sease on the bolts? Might want to do this when you put it back together.
If you have enough room, and the bolt is broken off in the head, you might be able to drill a hole in the broken bolt and use an ease-out.
Here are some i had in the toolbox. The one that's broken off is about the size you'll need. Try not to break it off though lol. They work like a reverse-tap, after you tap it into the hole, and turn it counter clockwise, it tries to go down in the hole, but it is tapered so it just gets tighter. Eventually it's easier to unscrew the bolt than to screw the ease-out in farther, and VIOLA. Bolt comes out. I've used these COUNTLESS times.
