I did it for about two months and switched to a TruTrac. The Detroit Locker worked great but was clunky and loud as hell. A lot of people look at your car, but with a "what the hell is about to fall off?" look on their faces. My wife didn't care to ride in it anymore with the locker.

When you go around a corner you'll hear a ratcheting sound. Mine was loud and sounded like someone tapping on my muffler case with a ball peen hammer. It also engages and disengages with a loud clunk and accompanying jolt at times. At low speeds in parking lots, cam surge is a real treat. It caused the locker to engage and disengage rapidly, throwing the car into the shakes.

Then again, some people like them.

We've had enough problems with the Locker that I would never recommend one. Bob

After talking with some builders, and Moser themself, they do not recommend it for racing applications...or at least not for my particular violent launching ***. However, I am getting a locker, as it was very affordable and I deal with the Y pipe banging every moment I'm in my car, doubt I'll hear, feel or notice the locker anyway. Even if I do, it'll probably be welcome.
