Retractable antenna makin noise

Retractable antenna makin noise Whenever the stereo is turned on or off the antenna in my 98 firebird makes a grinding noise i am guessing its the gears in the motor is this an easy part to fix/replace myself ? any help would be great

Yup. I had that exact noise for about a week, next thing is the antenna gets stuck and won't move, but you will still hear the motor. Mines stuck up now, its the antenna mast but once it get to the point when it gets stuck, the motor get stripped too... thats what everyone told me when I posted about it.
