That is really really common. Had it on my 94 Camaro and I have seen it on almost every Camaro since then.
You would need to sand it and re-spray it to get rid of it. No way to stop it that I know of.
I dont need to worry about it with my TA.

Well because we have power antennas. We just have ours scrapped and worn off from going in and out. lol
He is talking about the lower part of the base of the actual antenna. Not the base where it comes out of the car.
