Default locker questions

i have a 9" locker (3.75) and i was told it will drive a little different but was wondering if it is driving the way its supposed to or if i am gonna break something...if i back out of a parking spot making a turn slowly it kinda starts shaking the car....and sometimes it makes loud popping/clanking sounds....what is this/ is it normal? the same thing happens when i slow down into a turn the car starts hesitating and feels like the wheels are vibrating and then the car starts jerking....i dont know if its jerking cause i have a spec stg 5 clutch w/ 523rwtq or if its the way the rear is supposed to work...i heard it makes clicking sounds which it does when i have some speed (in excess of say 25 mph) when turning but i was thinking of going back to a posi or if its any better a "soft" locker....any experiences with this matter would be greatly appreciated...and am i gonna end up breaking my drivetrain with those hesitations/shaking?

I do believe that is normal. I got a locker in my Moser 9" as well and one day pulling into a parking lot on a slow, sharp turn the thing started bucking and clanking in the rear. It took me a while to realize I had to drive it a bit different and yes it will make embarassing noises sometimes in public It isn't that bad once you get used to it.

Yes it's all normal for a Detroit locker. If and when you get sick of the racket and clunking, get a TruTrac--almost like stock.

Yep, buddy of mine had a 9" detroit locker in his bronco. Made all kinda noises. Never had any trouble locking or unlocking though.

Youre not going to break it....... Its a 9" with a Detroit.

It comes down to finesse'.
