Default couple pics from machine shop

Block has been under the knife all week to finish up final machine work before assembly next week... The motor should have been done a month ago but numerous vendors took a little longer than expected. Now all the parts are ready to go so assembly starts monday.... I snapped a few pics at the builders of the Pro-Gram Engineering 4 bolt splayed mains after the engine got align-bored and then some pics of the Oliver billet steel rods going in it.... It's a SHAME those things have to ride in oil and are never seen....

enjoy... Oh forgot, engine is a solid roller 383 nitrous LT1, AFR 227's, single plane manifold, Gen VII DFI, Accufab throttle body, Jesel shaft rockers, Lunati crank, JE pistons.... looking to make 650 HP on motor and 1000 on spray. (400 shot divided into 2 stages)...

Well if you are including the fuel system, DFI, and redo of the exhaust and electrical system that is being done concurrently, ummmm alot

Seriously though I'm about 9K in the motor right now and I have yet to recieve the final bill for machining and assembly... I'm expecting about 1500-2000 for that... And the only other pieces I have yet to pay for is the Victor Jr EFI manifold ($1000) and the accufab 2000cfm throttle body (600)....

Motor only once it's done will probably be about 12-13K....

Everything combined probably 20g's....

Bizz-heheheh 355 + hotcam... my wallet and wife wishes it was just that

That's awesome Outlaw, in the same boat here, sounds like you have it worse though, I'm single Mines in the machine shop right now as well, hoping for early April, the pistons have been taking forever. Good luck with everything, keep us posted on how she comes out man.

I had a 350 redone. Had .030 bore, deck, hone, new brass freeze plugs, cam bearings, notched for 400 crank, and cleaning for 275.

Probably flat black.... match the engine compartment...

Did you have the 227 AFR's ported or no. Im looking into doing a 396 LT1
yes the competition port and polish directly from AFR... flowed very well and we're going to trust AFR's port program on their CNC machine for good velocity as well.... I'm not a huge head flow # guy cause alot of ppl forget that velocity matters as well... My old LT1 castings that we stage ii ported flowed just 258cfm on intake but still put down 422 RWHP NA.... in a 355 no less...

Final Machine bill was over $3,000
Yikes... hopefully since my engine builder is putting his valve covers on the car and he said my labor is at cost due to a kinda mini-sponsorship i'll get a slightly smaller bill...

That is one sexy buildup! Definately post up some more pictures
There will be more coming in the next few days. I would have snapped some pics of the heads and pistons but he had those hidden up high on the shelves at the shop... so he said he'd have it all out by end of the week so i could get pics...

Sounds like you'll be hittin' single digits in the 1/4
That's the plan.... I want to be one of very few people to run 8's with an LT1..... I think there has been two maybe three.... Sikora and big Rick....

Wow you've got a small fortune in that thing, of course as far as single digit motors go, it's about average cost. Good luck man, looks like it's going to set your Z on it's bumper
