Default Firehawk and Trans Am hood difference

Has anybody installed the SLP Ram Air hood on their 98-02 Trans Am ? The SLP hood I'm speaking of is part number 100075 and not the Firehawk hood. I have been told by some people that you have to modify the front bumper cover for clearance as this hood is longer in the front, just like the Firehawk is can anybody shed some light on this? I have a chance to buy one, but don't want to cut the front cover or grind the front edge (between the inlets) to fit as it's over 1/4" from what I've been told.

I do not believe the SLP HO hood requires any modifications to the front end.
The Firehawk hood does. So maybe someone else is confused in telling you it requires mod's to the bumper.

Look here, ...

Looks like the factory front bumper cover to me.

You have been misinformed. I have the H.O. hood and it fit great, no problems here.

Default Firehawk Hood

The SLP Firehawk hood requires modification of the front bumper and safety latch... The SLP H.O. hood is a direct bolt on.
