Default nozzle placement on dry shot

how important is placement and direction of nozzles on a dry shot? i have mine in the sides of the lid (duals) facing forward (away from MAF) - is this ok?

You can safely face the MAF from a short distance 4-5 inchs. By facing away your not letting the MAF respond to the shot as well as it can. It needs to read the shot to add fuel.
