Default Help painting inserts

I have a ws6 and I am painting the plastic inserts on the hood and also the 2 on each side of the car. I found the color I wanted and tested it out on them. Unfortunatly the other day after a strong rain the paint on them started to come off. Does anyone know 1) what kind of pain i should use ( I just got some outdoor stuff for plastic from walmart ) 2) what prep work if any do I need to do before I paint them 3) How to make it permanent.
Thanks

Plastic can be a pain to get paint to stick. This is what has worked WELL for me. Clean the pieces about a dozen times with laquer thinner to remove any and all residual waxes and preservatives. Use a scuff pad (I believe it was the red one that worked best) to kind of sand it down a little. Prime it, then sand it with some 600. Clean it with some prep solvent and then paint it. For small pieces, like your hood inserts you probably can't use the scuff pad, so just clean them real well.
