Default Knocking coming from the back

The knocking only happens at very low speeds (10mph and below) its seems only to happen when I let off the brakes and the car starts to roll. I took it to a local mechanic and he said that there was nothing wrong. I did put new brakes on, could they just be slightly rubbing? I just dont want to be crusing down the highway and have my diff. or somthing blow out.

any replies would be great,
thanks.

Take a very close listen to see where it is coming from. I took my old 01 Z in one day and asked what it could be and he said 98-02 fbodies had a problem with floating rotors in the rear

I am guessing that is the problem because when i apply the brakes the sound goes away, is there any way of fixing it? it is bad to leave them like that?

Mine made a clanging before, but a recent diff service unintentionally made it go away.

I have that noise in my '00 Z28. I had the dealer check it one time and he said he took out a new one and it made the noise too. It sounds like it's in the diff. It hasn't caused me a problem, nothing's ever broken.
