Angry WTF is wrong with my 99 SS?~!

Ok.. My SES light is on because my 02 sensors are bad. The problem Im needing help with is when I floor it in 1st gear and slam it into 2nd gear, my car bogs down and makes a LOUD BOOM which is a Fireball shooting out of my exhaust. Then my car shuts down but will instantly restart.

My problem could be my set up. I have stock manifolds, gutted cats, and no muffler. If this is a bad set up, I need to change it so I dont mess my car up..

I also thought the problem could be since my 02 sensors are bad and the SES light is on, maybe the computer is telling my car to shut down at high RPMs because it doesnt know what to do because of the thrown code..

And would my car run better with Long Tubes and True Duals? Help me out please..

Thanks - Chase

Could be the o2's causing your car to backfire, thats the boom, but also check your plugs and wires and see if those are all good.

used to have the same problem, you need to see summitt racing. they have some o'2 sensors that you can use for your setup.

So you think it could just be the o2 sensors?

I did change my plugs and wires less than a year ago.

Do you have o2 sims for the rear o2's after you gutted the cats?

i don't think that would cause adverse effects other than the SES light, but it would definetly throw a code, just a thought...
