Default Quick question

I was frustrated with my car because two times when I ripped into, what I thought, 3rd gear, the car would rattle horribly and slow down. Im thinking I popped it into 5th straight from 2nd. So it would have been a 1-2-5 shift and both the 1-2 and 2-5 shifts were done while redlining. Would the car rattle and sort of bog out if I rip it into 5th from 2nd? My knowledge with manuals isnt very great and anything will help. Thanks

I did not downshift into 1st. It was either 3rd or 5th.

If it actually got into 5th, your car would bog. I say actually got in because it is obviously a very large ratio jump and the work to be done by the synchronizer is eagually as large. This may result in a clash rather than getting the gear. If it did go in, you could also experience the clutch slipping. This may be the shuttering you noted.

Yea, Im sure it wasnt 1st because of the way I hold the **** when shifting into the upper gears(3rd and 5th). This is probably what I ended up doing...
