I have Michillen pilot sports on the back F1 technology and they grip like hell or hook up as our American buddies would say. :jest:
No really joking aside for a car this fast I get very little wheel spin.
I know it's only a GTech time but I've had 0-60 in 5.04 seconds and I think if I worked at it I could get that below 5 seconds.
According to published figures I should be 5.20 0-60mph.
I have lid and fast toys ram air Z06 Maf and smooth bellows and I hope to get the TC in tomorrow. That's worth 1/2 second.
So 13.8 is stock for my A4 2.73 geared car so -1/2 second puts me 13.3.
100 shot on Nitrious 1 second 12.3!
Heres hoping! bench racing easy! aint it!
Doing it always another thing!

Nothing serious!banging exaust issues which need straightening out & need to readjust my wire harness it's still to near my headers & everytime i take it out, it smells like strong burning plastic, so i purchased some thermal tape! But i need to get the car back in the air to sort these problems out & don't have access to a lift & the street i'm on is on a slight gradient so jack stands are too risky!
When i did my headers i used the pub carpark, jack stands & 4breezeblocks, but they're now doing building work on it.

I am waiting for a few bits to do my headers install, I have gaskets, O2 extentions and O2 sims on there way from USA right now.
I was hoping to do the TC today but it's raining here and although my car fits in the garage there not much room to work around it. But I supposed all this will be from under the car so once it's on the ramps and axles stands. I won't get wet.
Forcast for Sunday and Monday for drag racing is good! :)

Do you have ramps you can drive the front up onto without scraping?

04-14-2006, 04:19 PM
No I have to jack under the side then get my large trolly jack under the K member. I can jack the car high enough then to just put the ramps under the wheels
I have about 2 hours work left to finish TC install it was hell I'm knackered.
Top bellhousing bolts are a right B-----d
Box was well and truely stuck to the dowels took me 2 hours to pry it off :bang:
I hope this secondhand TC is ok cause I ain't got the energy to change it back.
Headers will have to wait until next weelend.

Don't lower your car with the SLP l/t's & Y pipe! I did in its old pro touring guise and finished up hitting every speed hump. :bang:
And get yourelf a LARGE prybar to twist the engine over to get them in.

I've never had a problem with speed bumps if taken slow! the only problem i can see is the drivers side y-pipe is a lot lower! I was thinkin of goin an inch lower just to fill the gaps in the arches a little

Tc is finally in and up and running.
It turned out to be the install from hell, :bang: because I didn't get the TC located properly on the front of the autobox resulting in a broken pump.
I ordered a rebuild kit from USA, Oregon Performance transmissions (Ebay.com) for $40 then with the help of my brother got that fitted and the car is back on the road 2 days ago.
It feels different and looser the the standard TC, it's meant to be worth 1/2 a second at the drag strip so it should be worth the trouble. I blew away one of these new Nissan 350Z's so seems like it's working ok! :jest: It also gave us a chance to see what the condition of the autobox was like. We replaced the filter and changed the fluid and the box looks good for 80,000 miles useage.
I am gonna leave the headers for now because I know they are gonna be a right B-----d of an install after doing headers on my previous 95 Z28 LT1 Camaro.
So now I'm ready for drag racing at Shakespeare County Raceway American Car World Nationals 13th and 14th of may. American cars only on the strip RWYB. :drive:
I'm not gonna tempt fate and say I'm going for a certain time lets just see how the car goes and I gonna spray the car also, prolly start with the 50 shot and work my way up to 100 and I have 125 in reserve. These are flywheel figures so the car will easy handle 125 shot.
I have all the safety precautions for the Nitrous window switch, FPSS, blow down tube. I have sprayed the 50 shot on the street and it kicks in like a turbo when you hit the set 3.000rpm limit to start spraying. I have it kicking out at 5,700 for the gear shifts.
See you guys there this is the best American car drag meet of the year and it includes a show and shine if you just wanna chill :chug:

I did the headers install today at my buddies workshop using a proper 2 post ramp and an air racket. It went very well and I can't believe how much easier the job was with the proper facilities. The install guide I down loaded said 5-12 hours using car ramps and axle stands at home.
We did it in 3 1/2 hours and test drive aftrewards perfect, no exhaust leaks or Y pipe touching under the car also no ground clearence issues.
Funny thing my car sounds exactly the same as it did before. I have a quietnes pack on the exahust with a single outlet. I could feel the car feels more responsive in the mid range. I have a twin outlet exhaust to fit yet.
I now need to get back to the track to see how this beast performs!
Hey the only damage to me is a small blister where I must have got my hand on the Exhaust before it had fully cooled down. Usually when I do a job like this I get my hands and arms scratched to f--k and my back will be killing me.
But with my buddy doing one side and me the other man is it easier!
I thought it would take us a full day at least!

Hi Andy,
I might get down to Shaky on the 11th if the weather is looking decent.
I am curious to see what my 1/4 would be.
being a 'vert I am carrying about 300 lbs extra.
Perhaps I should mark out a 1/4 in the industrial est. where I work, long strait, duall carr.
1/4 mile is 402 meters. Just need to get one of those wheele thingies.
I hope my time are respectable and i am not going to shame myself.

I will see you there, I don't think you have anything to worry about being a WS6 will give you a big advantage better gears a bit more HP!
There is no need to mark out 1/4 mile if you get a Gtech meter. I have one and did a 1/4 mile on the road with nitrous of 12.59!
I paid £39.99 for mine it does 0-60mph also. I got mine on Ebay but I can't see anyone witha decent feedback score selling them at the moment.
I have just fitted my headers and they look the business SLP stainless steel ceramic coated with 3" ypipe and high flow cats. I'm hoping they will knock at least a couple of tenths of my best time of 13.36.
Then I have my nitrous to try out again. I had a faulty solonoid last time out. I have swapped that for a better one so I will see what I can run with it!

Hi Andy, How does the Gtech work?
graham

06-01-2006, 11:37 PM
Hi Graham nice to here from you again. The one I have is the basic one not the Gtech pro.
It's an excellerometer(spelling) and it senses movement of the car. It plugs into the ciggarette lighter and you get it level by adjusting it until it reads 00. Then you press the button when it flashes accel. then it says go! so as soon as you move it starts logging. for 0-60mph just takes it above 60mph and slow down if you you keep it nailed until about 115mph it will log you 1/4 mile time.
0-60mph times flashes up and then your 1/4mile time. It knows when you have reach 60mph and when you have done a 1/4 mile so there is no need to measure any distances yourself. All you need is a nice long straight piece of deserted road!
Once you have it level it's set to go any time. The 1/4 time is within .2 of a second of the tracks time. Mph reads a little fast compared to the track because it caculated differently.

Here is one like I have on Ebay.co.uk it may be worth a bid, I paid £39.99 for mine new.

I forgot to say that it sticks to your windscreen with a sucker.I have mine next to the rear veiw mirror so I can reach the button. I sometimes set it at a traffic light if there's a clear bit of road ahead.
I've had 0-60mph in 5.04 seconds without the stall or nitrous, but working 0-60mph from my 13.36 timeslip with stall it's 4.5 seconds should be a little quicker with spray, but I don't spray till I hit 3,000rpm via a MSD digital window switch.
The Gtech also does other things like cornering G's and HP but I haven't used those functions yet.

07-04-2006, 02:43 AM
Well I finally got back to Shakey after moving house 2 weeks ago and I posted 3 good times and the weather was very hot and no good for fast runs.
I did 13.24@102mph on the motor 1.95 60ft
and 12.50@11mph with a 100shot of Nitrous. 1.97 60ft
All my other 60ft times were above 2 seconds
I aslo did a 12.75@111mph with 100 shot with the ASR traction control on as I was getting so much wheel spin about 20feet out as the Nitrous kicked in at 3,900rpm.
I was also having the same problem with N2O and having to back off because of serious sideways stuff.
On a better day I think I could knock a couple of tenths off those times and I still have 125 jets.
What I need now to go any quicker is DR's
But I am well happy with a 12.50!
MasterV8
07-04-2006, 03:13 AM
Dam! I was hoping with your mods you'd be more high mid 12s on motor & closer to 11s on juice! as you pretty much have same mods as me minus stall & spray as that was the times i'd be hopin for. this weathers a killer!
99Z28camaroman
07-05-2006, 02:27 AM
I think it would with DR's and cooler weather and I am having a better exhaust box fitted soon to free up some extra power which the headers should be giving me.
I have what is called a quiteness pack single outlet exhaust for the European market, it sucks!
So a twin outlet muffler is going on next week and maybe then I will be able to hear I'm driving a V8!
I think with DR's and a 125 shot it would maybe run a high 11.
I think my 111mph terminal speed should have given me maybe a 12.3 but lack of grip prevented that. The track was prepped for 8 second cars so just the weather was against me.
I am about at the limit of my street tires, they didn't like an extra 100 hp going through them that much!
It was something I have not had to deal with before, hook on the line then 20 feet out nitrous kicks in at 3,900rpm and the tires broke loose and the backend went sidways enough for me to have to back off on all my other runs besides the 3 quick ones.
I am still happy to have a 12.50 second and 13.24 timing ticket though.
I think DR's would also lower my 60ft time, 1.94 is my best
