Default Slight rust on Centersection: Problem or no??

I recently got a Center section for my 9" and i had put it in the garage to keep it dry, well low and behold i looked at it the other day and it looked as if somehow water had dripped onto it even though it was under the packaging that it came in and now there are rust spots on it, is this something to worry about or no? also is there a good way to possibly brush it up and get the rust spots off? it has only been in the garage about 2 weeks so it hasnt been in there that long, thanks!

Just make sure the gear has no rust on it before you install.
