Stock LS1, weight reduction ONLY, possible?
I'm trying to get a base time before I install all of my mods. I gotta question though-is it possible to see 12.9x with weight reduction and a cutout only?
Here is my reduction list
-Rear seats
-Carpet
-Spare
-Passenger seat
-washer resevoir
-sway bar
-bumper supports
-1/10th tank of gas
I'm also thinking about just cutting the stock catback off all together and driving around on the manifolds for a while until I get my parts installed (a couple months!). I figure this can't be much louder than running with an open cutout but it will weigh much less. What do you all think?
BTW its an A4 with 2.73s

Umm thats make ya think if it is possible ive heard but cant back it up but.. Some people say that for every 100 pounds you lose you gain a .10 of a second so to hit like 12.99 i would think under that theroy you would need to be a awsome driver and lose 410 pound give or take a couple but i have no idea if all that works lol .

well first of all i hope your car isnt running 13.5+ in the first place....i would think that if you could shave off 200 to 300 max lbs you would see some serious difference.....i am virtually stock pretty much lid and full exhaust and my car was fully loaded every option possible....i took out all seats, tire, jack and some other crap and weighed all of it and managed to take out over 174 lbs so i would say you have a good chance plus my times in sig are on the stock eagles and they are bald so i garentee that i could nail a 12.5 or better next time i go so good luck and let us know what happens

yes. my buddy ran 13.07 @ 107 TOTALLY stock with an 00 a4 b4c (had 135k on it at the time) with only weight reduction. he had crappy 2.0-2.1 60s all night, spinning off the line. 12s is possible with just weight reduction. he removed almost the entire interior. retained the driver's seat and dash + vents. nothing else. had he dropped the bumper supports, etc, i KNOW he would've been in the 12s on a tire.
