Clutch and flywheel install, a little pricey?
So i just dropped my 2000 Trans Am off at a local garage yesterday to have a new SPEC clutch and flywheel installed, and to have one of my front signal light sockets replaced. The guy calls me today and tells me the estimate. about 740$ for everything! I was shocked. He is saying that its an 8 hour job and he charges 65$ an hour. Also he said that I should replace the slave cylinder, which I agreed on, and that was 170$. Is changing a clutch and flywheel really an 8 hour job?

was it a dealership or a reputable (sp) lsx shop bc that can change the rates alot and how many hours of work it is.
it took my brother 8 hours to do it at his dealership and this was his first time, we installed headers and y pipe in those 8 hours

I can do a clutch in my car on the lift in 3 hours tops if im going slow and bullshitting with people. Hell I can yank an auto in 40 minutes by myself, and put it back in 30 with some help.

740 seems high, they charged me at a trans shop 300 to change out a trans and do a clutch on a front wheel drive car.
how hard is it to change the cutch on these cars.
ive done my 86 mustang 2 times, my buddies mustang 2 times, and ive done a 95 stang once, and mustangs are easy to do, but how much harder is an f-body, because im not going to do it if its going to be a pain in the ***
