Default Could bad motor mounts make clutch chatter worse?

Had my Spec 3 for about 8k miles and still get a little chatter when taking off in first. Could worn out motor mounts amplify the clutch engagement chatter, or cause chatter if there were otherwise none?

Actually, when I replaced my motor mounts with poly ones, my clutch chatter got worse (Ram Powergrip)...

thats not what i want to hear. my engine moves about 1"-1.5" when i am on the brake gas and let out the clutch. mine chatters quite a bit. i figuered it was making all the noise cause the motor was going up and down and smaking the mounts. oh well i still need to get some poly mounts.

Hopefully you don't have the same experience I did, but I definitely have more chatter now...oh well. You win some, you lose some.

a loose torque arm will also make clutch chatter seem worse.

I recently had a motor mount replaced (the torque arm was bad too), and the clutch chatter was definitely worse.

Poly mounts make vibrations worse because they transmit vibration from the eng/trans to the car.

Yes, I had a small shudder as I released the clutch. I bought a new motor mount and filled the void area with 3M Window Weld. Had the passenger mount replaced and the shudder is gone. Surprisingly, I asked my mechanic about the old one and he said it didn't look too bad. It wasn't torn loose. I had the drivers side replaced previously.
