1st time ever down the track
Tonight was the first time on a track. I was nervous as hell but it was fun. I have a 99 firehawk, and here is my best time. 1/8 mile track by the way.
60ft. 2.35
9.36 at 83.2mph
I know that is bad but for my first time I was happy. What should I be running and what can I do to get better times. I am stock all the way also.

Congrats on your first time down the track. Your 60' time needs to come down. I'd say you can snag a 2.2 sec. 60' on street tires. Some people can get a 2.0-2.1 sec. 60' on street tires, but I have yet to at my local track. Your car should atleast run a 9.0 sec. 1/8th mile time. Most people can get their cars in the 8.8 range 1/8th mile wise. I believe the power is obviously there, as your trap speed in the 8th mile is pretty solid.
Just keep practicing, and don't worry about missing a gear, go all out. Everyone misses a shift here and there.

Auto or manual? If auto I ran in the 8.70's bone stock, so there's more left. Work on your launches, and it's possible to snag a 2.0 60 foot on regular street tires (I pulled a 2.06 stock on 3.23 gearing). The car is likely making 290-300 if auto, and 295-310 stick, but that's my best guess.
We all have to start somewhere, so keep practicing and you'll find lower ets.
Good luck!
Derek

Just keep chugging away and learn how to launch the thing... The first 60' make or break a great run...
You should be able to get a good 2.0 60' out of it... Get some sticky tires and give it hell!!
