headlight grind!!!
What's up? My left headlight just started making the dreaded grinding noise . I know I can replace the gear and I'm going to replace both of them together, but someone told me there are metal gears I can get to replace the plastic ones. If so, where can I get them and how much? Thanks...
One more thing...Before when I hit the keyless entry button to unlock/lock my doors, the headlights never used to flip up, and now, since the left headlight started grinding, both my lights flip up and make that grinding death noise. Why does it do that now when it never did it before? Is it something that makes the lights pop up and make the grinding noise to bug the **** out of me just to get me to replace it that much quicker? Just wondering...

That website has all you need to fix the problem. You can buy the brass gears directly from him and he has a great write up on the install process. Until you fix the headlight gears your headlights are going to go up and down when you use your keyless remote.
