Default tire pressure monitor?

on a 2002 Z06 factory wheels have the tire pressure monitor in the valve stem correct? I just got a set of black z06 wheels from tomzwheels (stock 17 and 18) I will be reusing the tires that are currently on my z06. My question is, will I need to do anything about the pressure monitor system? I will def be using the sensors in the new wheels but will the factory have to reset anything?
thanks
Kevin

I thought the tire pressure monitors, were strapped to the inside of the wheel . . . .

The factory should not have to reset anything.
