Default compression

why is it that honda engines with high compression such as the integra type r (11:5:1 compression) can get away with that compression on the street, but when it comes to corvettes, it's risky running 11:5:1 compression on the street without running race gas.....

what is the highest compression on a stock bottom 346 can you get away with on the street?

11.5:1 isn't terribly high for a NA car.

Forget the static measurements; try to get a DCR of 8.5ish. Your DCR will define what octane you need to run. I have a static of 11.2 and a DCR of 8.53 with absolutely no issues with KR.
