Default XFI 280 vs 306

CC 249-07-467-8 VS CC 249-07-306-8

Which cam will make more power on a properly tuned LT1 with the proper supporting mods I:E; LT headers, 58mm tb, ported heads, 1.6RRs, 2800-3200 stall, etc.

I know that the 1.6s will bump up the lift on the 306.
Here are the advertised specs, however, doesn't the XFI have a more aggresive lobe?

IMHO the XFI. However you will need a good rocker arm such as the Pro Magnum, good valve springs such as the 918 and a good stiff pushrod such as the High Tech.

I'd like to know too, I bought the 280XFI looking to make some good power and would like to see how it compares to the 306 as well. I have some Hi-Tech 1.65rr to go with it on a sick set of heads, but I've been unable to see any similar combos out there. The XFI cams have been out since late '04, but I don't see many guys using them on the boards.

I know one car running the 230 XFI cam. It is a third gen L98 motor in a 1986 Grand Prix with the stock TPI runners. He has AFR 190 heads and a good exhaust system. With a 700R4 he is putting down 331 RWHP and around 380RWTQ. The power is going to go up quite abit when he puts on a better flowing intake system. Me, I will be installing the 218XFI in my current buildup.
