i agree although u have to understand it is not like that every were. looking at the video i think it was the distric manager that was to blame. when we had complaints come in to our shop we did not walk away and say talk to someone else we took care of it and i dont care who u are there will be **** ups at every shop even if it is a crome lug nut getting scratched. hell the customer should know and if they get pissed so be it but at least they know the honesty of the shop. honesty and the willing ness to fix the problem should overway the problem. i dont know if all those are in the same distric but i would like to know if the 5 that were cought had the same distric manager. i worked at a kwik kar and we were honest. we were told if a customer was sold something that they did not need we had no job. hell i had customers come and complain because i advised them they did not need a services that they come in and requested only because the customer came back and complained because he said i did not want to help him. it is a sad situation because there are honest shops out there but it is hard to find them because people are scared even if they have been told the truth because of things like this. hell i always have my sister bring me her car especialy if they tell her she needs a service.
off my soap box but it sucks for honest people/shops because of people like this and the ignorance of the public.

There is always gonna be shady people, but everyone involved were shady there...or else its just some kind of massive communication failure.
At my shop they would flip out if we missed something, they actually send out a letter about dishonesty every month. Management gives out a $500 reward for reporting someone being dishonest. I recall two incidents; in the first a Service Consultant overcharged on an estimate and the DM ripped him a new one. The second one an SC tried to pull a fast one on an insurance company, they called bs and wanted to send out someone to investigate. She asked a mechanic to cut a CV axle boot, he refused, she asked a GS tech to do it, he refused and called the VP of Operations. He came down and talked to a couple people, cut the GS a check for $500 and fired her *** on the spot.
The bad thing about shows like this is that everyone coming through thinks we're scamming them now. I don't do well with people getting in my face, and just last week some ******* in an avalanche parked sideways across our driveway and blocked everything off, then when I got in to do the service it was dead. So I got the jump box and the scanner to make sure the systems were still ready, he runs outside flipping out. Saying I destroyed his battery or something, when accusations start to fly I quit helping people. So I put my **** up and walked away, dunno how he ended up getting it out of there. Then last saturday I did an oil change on some lady's S10 Blazer, when I finished and parked it outside it was fine. When she got in it the check engine light came on, because I was the last person to touch it its automatically my fault right. It felt like a misfire so I checked it out, #6 was misfiring like crazy, so I look at it. The wire isn't resting on anything metal or arcing anywhere...so I take it inside and end up having to pull the plug out, covered in fuel. She says I sabotaged her car and ruined her day of shopping or whatever, yeah right bitch the manager is on my side. And you can put the car back together yourself. Maybe look for some evidence before you throw accusations around, or realize the difference between someone doing their job and helping you out of kindness.

Car was wired with cameras and 5 of them got busted for not doing the work. Found the District Manager, who lied about his identity, and got an e-mail from the company that they would investigate the matters.

I do doubt that any oil change service centers have fuel pumps in inventory though
