Default Replacing knock sensors

My car threw the SES light the other day and when I scanned it it came up with a shorted/bad knock sensor. Is there any tricks to replacing a knock sensor and what can I look at for a replacement cost? Can driving with a bad knock sensor hurt anything?

Default Re: Replacing knock sensors

You are going to need to pull the intake manifold off. Once you do this, it very easy to take the knock sensor covers off, unplug the sensor, and remove the knock sensor.

It's not going to hurt anything driving with bad knock sensors. However, if the problem is bad enough, the computer will pull out a constant amount of timing.
