Can i swap a 98 camaro LS1 intake and a 02 LS6 intake across??
Ive got a buddy with a 02 ws6 t/a and he doesnt care anything about horsepower or racing, he just likes the looks of his car. And another friend with a 98 Z28 camaro.
Well they made a deal for $300 to swap intakes.
Will the intake off the 02 t/a be a direct swap onto the 98.
And likewise. Can i take a 98 ls1 intake and put it on the 02 transam? Is there a coolant line problem or anything else?

Yea there is a cooling line problem you have to swap the the lines that run under the intake on the 98 and in the front and back on the 02 the 02 intake is lower and will not clear over the coolant tube. Plus the 98 inatake has a egr hole in the top of wich will have to be pluged off fro the 02 car.

The LS6 intake can be made to fit on the stock '98 cooling lines by milling off the ribs on the bottom of the LS6 intake. Since you'll be swapping the intakes at the same time it's just as easy to swap cooling lines too.
You'll have to put a plug in the EGR hole on the '98 manifold since the '02 doesn't have a provision for this and get an EGR blockoff plate for the exhaust manifold on the '98.
