Default headers or gears

ok, so ive got a guy offering me mac headers and another guy offering me 3.73 gears, now the headers are long tubes but they are catted, now what i am asking is what will yield better results at the track? im thinking headers but please correcct me if im wrong! thnx

also, i just found out that they are mid-length, not long tube!

What gear do you have now? The mid length headers should be worth ~.2 and ~2 MPH. If you have 2.73 gears, going to 3.73's would be worth more than that assuming you have enough tire to hook it still.

If you've already got 3.23's then it'll probably be a toss up as to which one will benefit you the most at this point. Just remember the headers will need a tune to get the maximum gain from them. The gears will not. I picked up much more from stock manifolds to LT Hooker headers (.28) than a gear change from 3.42's to 3.90's (.05) but I'm an A4 with a big converter so I knew going in the gear wasn't going to help me that much.

If you r going headers go long tubes, 3.23 r fine. if i would start modding a A4 i would go for a stall for the first thing , gains r almost between 0.4-0.6s.

u can get pacessters LT`s for under 400$.
