Default I slit my accordion bellows....

I accidentally slit my stock accordion bellows near the TB while trying to tighten the clamp. Well I put tape around it for now so no air will escape or whatever. But wanted to know if this is bad? The slit is about 5mm long..

If it leaks, not only will you allow unfiltered air into your engine, you'll allow unmetered air into your engine. Your Ltrims will get thrown positive. Not good.

A piece of rubber tubing from your local hardware will work just fine

If you need a temporary driving solution, get some superglue and fit it back together 'till you can get a new one. Depending on how big the tear is, and where, it may even be a long term solution.
Unmetered air is a problem,(see Colonels post) but sucking in road crap would be an even bigger prob in the long run.

Go to your local home improvement store or plumbing store and pick up a 3"Fernco coupling. I think there around $3.00. Warm it up in the microwave with a couple 15second blasts. Trim one side of it with a sharp razor knife.

Hey, if its the stock bellow hose, you can have mine. Its just sitting in the garage all by itself, getting no attention <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> . Yours if you want it!
