Default What tires for Z06???

Dude I work with has an 02 Z06 that's completely stock. He's looking for new tires and doesn't know what to get. He's checking out Tire Rack and Discount Tire, but doesn't know (nor do I) the differences and plus & minuses of different brands. Anyone know which ones to stay away from or which are good deals? He VERY RARELY launches the car hard and doesn't take it over about 140. Thanks for the input!

Yup, it has the F1s on it right now. He just thought that there might be a better tire to put on it in the same price range.

Those F1's are very good tires but tend to wear out pretty quickly. The BFG KD or KDW2 would be a good tire to consider. They are pretty sticky but should wear a little better than the Goodyears and are typically a good bit cheaper.

You can't really compare tires by treadwear unless you looking at 2 of the same brand. In other words a Goodyear 300 will not wear the same as a BFG 300 or a Kuhmo 300 etc... It just means that a Goodyear with a treadwear of 300 will last twice as long as a Goodyear with a treadwear of 150. I've had both Goodyear and BFG and I felt the Goodyears had better traction but were worse in treadwear and higher cost. I also had Kuhmos and they lasted forever but were as hard as a rock and provided very bad traction. I can't speak of any other performance tire as I have only had those 3.
