Alot of ways to do it brother. Just depends on the route you choose.
Here's a few...
1.Nitrous/tires/clutch(not a spec) $2,000. (nitrous kits can be between 500 and 1500 bucks. Clutch from $800 to $2000, tires around $200 each)
2.Supercharger/tires/clutch(not a spec)/fuel pump. roughly $6000
3.turbocharger/tires/clutch/fuel pump. roughly $7000 or more
4.heads/cam/tires/clutch 2500 to 7000 bucks.
5.built bottom end. From 2500 to 30,000 easy.
6. Buy a stock Z06
On my old setup...I was more on a budget. I went with good bolt on's, and a cam only mod. The car made over four hundred horsepower to the wheels.....and I did it for pretty cheap. I also had nitrous on the car. I honestly, never got it to the track....but I went 12.50 on street tires,....with about 70 less rear wheel horsepower. 11 second car?...easily.
Now I'm doing heads and cam on an LS1....with all boltons.... and i'll keep you posted on my et's. I'm hopeing tens without spray. Low tens with it.
I do drive daily....quite hard at that.

Z06 with bolt ons, tires and a cam got me into the mid 11s. I was close before the cam with just bolt ons and tires running 12.0s. Currently I have heads added on and the car gets 30 mpg on interstate and around 17 in the city. I daily drive it as well.

V has pretty much covered all the options, and he knows (especially about the spec) Personally my car is toward the low end of option #4 and has gone 12.0 @120+ with a 2.0 60' on factory runflats and will get close to 30mpg on a trip so I concur with both these guys. I think if you can drive I like option #6.

Oh yeah.
I was doing 100mph at around 2300 to 2600rpm (don't remember EXACTLY) and getting an "instant MPG" of 29.0mpg.
I get an average of 20 on the highway though....but only cause i'm usually on it...downshifting.....on it...lift...on it again......lift.....downshift......on it.... and it still gets 20mpg. on average.

Just read my sig, I have the bases loaded as well. 11's all day long even with the crappy hooking runflats. Drop the air pressure and they bite. With the lighter non run flat ZO6 softer and wider better bite should be able to see
11.0's maybe 10.9999. I don't launch hard with the run flats, that's probably why they grab.
As far as gas mileage, no problem to pull 34+ on the highway using the cruise. City gas mileage is horrible, I try not to watch. As long as it does good on the E-way, I use her for long trips, show up with authority.

Well if you count the mod, then there are stock 02-04 Z06's that have been in the 11's.

I'd put my car up against a cam only ZO6 any day. I do my 11's on runflats. I don't need DR's or slicks. Besides I didn't spend all my money to break stuff. If I never see 10.xxx that will be fine, because 200 mph was my goal from the start. GOAL Accomplished.
